CLEARFIELD – At Monday night’s special meeting, Superintendent Richard C. Makin advised the Clearfield Area School District Board of Directors that its central administrative office needs both electrical and roofing repairs.
Makin said the building will require a “major electrical upgrade.” He said they have experienced issues with blown fuses. He said they would likely need to re-roof the building as well.
Makin said he didn’t have any further details at the present time. He said Rick Bunning, director of buildings and grounds, would have additional details at next week’s committee meetings.
Makin said they’re currently on schedule with the high school’s roofing project. He said that J. Greer Hayden, of HHSDR Architects/Engineers, has been working on the bidding documents for the project.
In a feasibility study update, Makin said the architect has completed walkthroughs on half of the district’s elementary buildings. He said the architect would do so for both Girard-Goshen and Clearfield Elementary Schools on March 16.
Makin said he’s currently uncertain how soon they’ll receive reports on the conditions of the elementary buildings. He said it’s a possibility they’ll be able to fit Bradford Elementary’s structural repairs into feasibility study options.
“We’re getting into the nuts and bolts now,” Makin said. “We’ll just have to wait and see.”
