Rose Marie Shearer, 87, of Curwensville, passed away on March 6 at the Clearfield Hospital.
Born April 9, 1922 in Curwensville, she was the daughter of Antonio and Marie (Perello) Sorento. Ms. Shearer had been employed as a waitress at the former Black’s Restaurant in Curwensville as well as various other restaurants in the area and was also a homemaker. She was a member of St. Timothy’s Roman Catholic Church of Curwensville.
Surviving are 2 children George Shearer and his significant other Patty Petrone of Curwensville and Rosemary Guiher and her husband Jerry of Grampian. Also surviving is a granddaughter Kimberly Weld and her husband Mark of Bells Landing, and a great grandson Trenton Weld.
In addition she is survived by 3 sisters and a brother, Victoria Catalano and her husband Angelo and Concetta Sorento both of Curwensville, Decelina Accordino and her husband Philip of Clearfield and Bruno Sorento of New Alexandria, PA as well as 5 nephews and a niece.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Anthony Sorento.
A public Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Timothy’s Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville on March 8 at 10:00 a.m., with Rev. Fr. Mark J. Mastrian as celebrant. Interment will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park of Hyde, PA.
There will be no public visitation.
The family suggests contributions be made to either the American Cancer Society or St. Timothy’s Church Memorial Fund.
