Obituary Notice: Thomas F. Kaspick

Mr. Thomas F. Kaspick, Sr, 86, Madera, passed away at 11:00 p.m on March 5 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville,  PA.
 
He was born in Ramey on July 5, 1923 a son of the late Steve and Anna (Vrabel) Kaspick.
 
Tom was a 1941 graduate of the former Madera High School and served in the U.S. Army as a Staff Sergeant  in WW II.  He participated in the Battle of the Bulge and was captured and held as a POW.  After his discharge, Tom worked as a stone mason for the former Tiracorda Contracting Company of Madera.
 
He was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Madera and a member of Our Lady of the Valley Knights of Columbus Council 10376, Houtzdale; Pope John Paul Fourth Degree Assembly  952 Knights of Columbus, Clearfield and John Branic VFW Post 8822, Madera.
 
On Nov. 26, 1942 in Fairchance, PA he married Bertha P. Pluto Kaspick, who survives of Madera.
 
Tom is survived by three sons; Thomas F. Kaspick, Jr and his wife  Rebecca  of Braselton, GA, Robert J. Kaspick and his wife  Diane of Clearfield and Richard L. Kaspick and his wife  Anita of Braselton, GA.
 
He is also survived by 7 grandchildren;  Kimberly A. Hopkins and her husband Michael, Cocoa, FL; Kathleen M. Hightower and her husband Chris, Coral Springs, FL; Kara L. Pena and her husband Douglas of Braselton, GA; Krista A. McCracken and her husband Christopher, Curwensville; Brian J. Kaspick of Chadds Ford; Kenneth J. Kaspick of Gainesville, GA and Steven A. Kaspick of Oveida, FL; 9 great grandchildren; Michael and Shane Hopkins, Christopher and Gillian Hightower, Emily and Douglas Pena, Jeremy, Jacob and Alaina McCracken.
 
A sister, Anastasia “Toots” Hall of Fairfax, VA  survives as well as to two brother-in-laws, Thomas Pluto and George Pluto, Jr.   A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, three brother-in-laws,  Joe E. Hall, Lamorne Pluto and Leland Pluto.
 
Tom enjoyed gardening and was a loving husband, a great father and a wonderful Pap.
 
Friends will be received on March 9, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and on March 10 from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. at the Kruise Funeral Home, Inc. Madera.  Our Lady of the Valley Council K of C will hold a memorial service at 8:45 p.m. and Pope John  Paul 4th Degree Assembly will stand guard Tues evening in the funeral home.
 
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on March 10 at 10:00 a.m. in  Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Madera, with Very Rev. Fr. Gregory A. Kirsch as celebrant.
 
Graveside Service will be held in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Madera will military honors being conducted by the Osceola Mills Honor Guard.
