Walton E. “Wacky” Williamson, 81 of Philipsburg passed away on March 5 at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College,
He was born on Sept. 20, 1928 in Philipsburg, the son of the late William & Elizabeth (Williams) Williamson Sr.
On June 14, 1958 in Forest, he married Louise O. (Schwiderske) Williamson, who survives at home.
He is survived by children Amy Pancoast and her husband Glenn of Philipsburg, Carol Hogan and her husband Charles of Wilmington, NC, Thomas W. Williamson of Philipsburg, Robert J. Williamson and his companion Karen Walker of Osceola Mills and Laura Witherow and her husband Lance of Morrisdale; sisters Caroline Crain of Philipsburg and Jane Arnold and her husband Albert of Philipsburg; grandchildren Joshua Pancoast, Rockie Upshaw and his wife Brittany, Elliot Pancoast, Elsa Witherow and William Emil Williamson and great-granddaughter Alexis Upshaw as well as his companion Tiny.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother William Williamson Jr., and sisters: Ruby Williamson and Rose Williamson.
He retired in 1988 after 24 years of service at Bremans Express of Clearfield, where he was a Teamster.
He also worked for the Centre County Solid Waste Landfill and Merryman John Deer.
He was of the protestant faith
He was a veteran of the US Army, having served in Hawaii from 1947 to 1949
Funeral Services will be held at the David K. Dahlgren Funeral Home, 228 N. Centre St. Philipsburg on March 7 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Gerald A. Krum officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on March 7 from 1 p.m. until the hour of service at 3 p.m.
