Fred B. “Squib” Lumadue, 89, of West Decatur, passed away on March 2 at his home.
Mr. Lumadue was born on Dec. 3, 1920 in Bradford Township., Clearfield County, the son of Joseph and Duella (Varner) Lumadue.
He had been a coal miner at the former Lady Jane Collieries in Penfield for nearly twenty five years.
Mr. Lumadue was Protestant by faith.
He was a lifetime member of the Clearfield F.O.E. Aerie No. 812.
Mr. Lumadue is survived by his wife; Beverly Alice (Milligan) Lumadue whom he married on September 26, 1958 in West Decatur, three children: Phyllis E. Capatch of Clearfield, Marion L. Lace of Galion, OH and Sharon L. Folmar and her husband Arthur of Drifting; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers: William “Bill” Lumadue and his wife Elva of West Decatur and Horatio “Spook” Lumadue of Spring Valley and two sisters: Edna Kephart of West Decatur and Lillian Wisor of Spring Valley. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister; Vada Lumadue; four brothers: Verdun “Peck”, Jerome “Toad”, Hollis “Bum” and Robert “Curt” Lumadue, a grandson, Michael Lansberry and a great-grandson, Jeromy Lansberry.
Funeral Services will be held at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc in Clearfield on March 5 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Matt Mitchell officiating. Interment will be in Bradford Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services.
