Obituary Notice: Robert W. “Bob” Dotts Sr.

Robert Wesley “Bob” Dotts Sr. 86 of Clearfield passed away Friday, February 26, 2010 at the Altoona Regional Medical Center, Altoona Campus.

Born April 30, 1924 in Curwensville, PA, he was the son of Droze A. and Isabell Pearl (Nevling) Dotts. Mr. Dotts owned Dotts Motor Co. in Clearfield, PA. and was active in the business for over 65 years. He was a U S Army Veteran of World War II, serving in European Theater, as a member of the 333rd Harbor Craft Co.

He was a life member of the B.P.O.E #540 Clearfield, the Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post # 6, a former member of the Rescue Hose and Ladder Co. of Curwensville, and was also a member of the Hyde Vol. Fire Co.

He wed the former Iris LeDelle Turner who preceded him in death in April of 1970. He was also preceded in death by his parents and his stepmother Marie (Mitchell) Dotts.

Surviving are 3 children; Mary Ann Guay of Keene, NH, and Robert W. Dotts II and his wife Lori and Thomas A. Dotts and his wife Rebecca both of Clearfield.

Also surviving are 5 grandchildren Robert M. Dotts, Abigail Guay, Ryan M. Dotts, Hannah L. Dotts, and Emily M. Dotts, 3 great grandchildren Adam Dotts, Benjamin Dotts, and Vivienne Dotts, and 2 sisters Jean Reisinger of Clearfield and Joyce Kyler of Kernville, CA.

Funeral Services for Mr. Dotts will be held at the West Side United Methodist Church on Wednesday March 3, 2010 at 11:00 AM, with Reverends Rodger Gorton and Dr. A. Glenn Williams co-officiating. Interment will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park in Hyde, PA.

The family of Robert Dotts would be honored to receive family, friends, colleagues, and Elks Brothers at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 AM until time of services.

Elks Memorial Services will be conducted by members of BPOE Lodge #540 Wednesday morning March 3 at the West Side United Methodist Church at 10:30 AM.
