Police Report: State Police Philipsburg

PHILIPSBURG – State Police in Philipsburg are advising drivers to be cautious of melting snow.  Police are warning that the warmer temperatures during the day will melt the snow but will refreeze when the temperature drops at night.  Motorists are reminded that this can cause icy or slippery roadways and are advised to drive with caution.

Motorists are asked to use good judgement when following other vehicles on the roadway.  The Pennsylvania Vehicle Code states:  “The driver of a motor vehicle shall not follow another vehicle more closely than is reasonable and prudent, having due regard for the speed of the vehicles and the traffic upon and the condition of the highway.”

Motorists and passengers are reminded to always use their seatbelts.
