Barbara Ann Johns, age 69, of Philipsburg passed away on Friday, February 12, 2010 at her residence.
Born March 14, 1940 she was the daughter of the late John Franek and Jean Franek who survives at home.
She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, West Decatur.
She was a 1958 graduate of the Clearfield High School and was employed for many years at the Presbyterian Home of the Moshannon Valley and also performed private personal care for several area families.
In 1962 she wed Willard Thomas Johns, Jr. who preceded her in death in 1978.
She is survived by a daughter, Lori J. Johns of Philipsburg, two sons, Larry J. Johns and his wife Wendy of Wallaceton, David S. Johns and his wife Elmie of Pittsburgh; a sister Shirley Slack of Hamburg, NY; six brothers, Rudy Slack and his wife Laverne of DuBois, John Slack of Washington D.C., Richard Slack and his wife Alice of Arizona, Robert Slack of Washington D.C., Kenneth Himes of Pittsburgh and Philip Franek of Philipsburg; and three grandchildren.
In addition to her father and husband she was preceded in death by two brothers, John Himes and Butch Franek and a sister, Barbara Franek.
There will be no public visitation or funeral. Arrangements are under the direction of the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 E. Spruce Street, Philipsburg.
