DAMS Students Learn about ‘Drug World’

DUBOIS – On Wednesday, Jan. 27, area law enforcement and health faculty held a drug awareness presentation for eighth grade students at the DuBois Area Middle School, the DuBois City Police Department stated in a press release.

Officer Mike Morris, of the Lawrence Township Police Department, moderated the presentation. He presented the students with the realties of illegal drug use, sales and arrests.

According to the press release, Morris outlined the negative results for youth who become involved in the “drug world.” He spoke of the damage it would have on their lives, families and society.

It further stated that Morris stressed the importance of good decision making that will keep them safe and in position to achieve goals. It stated the presentation was one of many strategies by the eighth grade health department to educate students with “real life sources.”

The DuBois Area Middle School, the DCPD Middle School Recourse Officer and the LTPD took part in the presentation.
