Fire in Morris Township Rule Accidental

MORRIS TOWNSHIP – A fire that happened at 6:03 a.m. on Jan. 27 in Morris Township along the Morrisdale and Allport Highway, state Route 53, has been ruled accidental by Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshall Unit and the fire chief from Morris Township Volunteer Police Department.

The fire originated in the attic of a two-story, wood framed 26’ x 31’ structure that was occupied at the time. The cause of the fire was found to be overheated electrical wires in the attic. Damage is estimated at $70,000. No injuries were reported.

Assisting at the scene were member of the Morris Township Volunteer Fire Department.
