Traffic Delays Expected in DuBois This Week

CLEARFIELD – DuBois area drivers may encounter short delays next week as tree trimming work begins along South Main Street and Hospital Avenue. The tree trimming is a part of the Hospital Avenue re-alignment project.

Crews will be cutting and removing trees along South Main Street between Grove Avenue and Dixon Avenue and along Hospital Avenue between South Main Street and Prospect Street. Flaggers will be in place to direct traffic and drivers can expect short delays. Emergency vehicles will be accommodated through the work zone.

By the end of the week, crews may begin demolition of buildings along Dixon Avenue. Flaggers will be in place during that work activity. Drainage work behind Dixon Avenue will also take place. That work will have no impacts to traffic.

PennDOT will issue regular updates on the project to detail traffic pattern changes and project work activity.

The overall project will re-align Hospital Avenue with Dixon Avenue and will also feature roadway widening, new traffic signals and improved access to DRMC.

The job is scheduled to run through late November of this year.

SET, Inc. of Lowellville, Ohio is the contractor on the $4.2 million project.

PennDOT reminds motorists they can also log on to 511pa.com or call 511 from any phone before heading out to check traffic conditions.
