Three Men Arrested for Convenience Store Robberies in Chester Hill, Morrisdale and Kylertown

WOODLAND – Three men have been taken custody for reportedly robbing convenience stores in Kylertown, Morrisdale and Philipsburg.

Taken into custody were 22-year-old Andrew of Philipsburg, 36-year-old Charles Martell of Philipsburg and 20-year-old Darrell Taylor of Philipsburg.

The first reported incident occurred on Jan. 3 at 9:15 p.m. at Kwik Fill in Chester Hill. According to police Taylor and Slogosky were involved in that incident. It was first reported that the incident involved two males. They entered Kwik Fill on Jan. 3; one male demanded money and punched a 21-year-old Houtzdale man in the mouth. Another male struck the Houtzdale man on the back of the head with a small club and also demanded money. The two males fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash and three packs of menthol Marlboro cigarettes.

The second and third instances involved Slogosky and Martell and occurred on Jan. 10. According to a prior report According to police an unknown man wearing a dark, hooded coat and dark handkerchief over his face, black jeans and black gloves entered the Kwik Fill in Kylertown. Police said he held a 2-foot baton over his head as if he was going to strike the Kwik Fill employee. The man demanded that the employee open a safe and get money for him. The employee refused to open the safe and the man fled the scene without getting any money.

In the third instance the men allegedly robbed the Country Convenience Store in Morrisdale.

Slogosky was apprehended on Jan. 11 and charged in relation to all three robberies. He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Patrick Ford and placed in Clearfield County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.

Martell was taken into custody on Jan. 11 and charged with conspiracy and related offenses in regards to the Kylertown Kwik Fill and Country Convenience Store robberies. He was arraigned before Ford and placed in Clearfield Count Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.

Taylor was apprehended on Jan. 12 and charged with robbery, theft and harassment stemming from the Chester Hill Kwik Fill robbery. He was arraigned before MDJ Michael Rudell and placed in Clearfield County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.

All three men have preliminary hearings scheduled for Jan. 20.
