Fire Destroys Trailer in Sandy Township, Kills Pets

DUBOIS – On Thursday crews responded to a structure fire that destroyed a trailer and took the lives of an undisclosed number of pets.

According to Sandy Township Fire Chief Bob Wilson, the fire occurred on Thursday at 4:22 p.m. at 241 Circle Road.

Wilson said that no one home at time of fire. The trailer was owned by Ralph Lingle and rented by Ashley Raybuck, Troy Reiter and Latasha Neal. The victims lost all their personal possessions and several pets died inthe fire. No injuries were reported.

Units responding included: all Sandy Township Fire Companies, Penfield Fire Company and Jay Township was on standby for Penfield Fire Company. Others assisting were United Electric, Sandy Township Police and Sandy Township Public Works and DuSan Ambulance.

The fire department and a state police fire marshal are investigating.

Wilson expressed appreciation to everyone who responded to the emergency saying everyone did a good job and worked well together.
