CLEARFIELD – On Tuesday the Clearfield County Commissioers awarded a bid to help update a county bridge in need of repair.
In October the Clearfield County Commissioners revealed that the Peale Bridge in Cooper Township was in disrepair. They said they had two choices: fix it or close it.
After speaking with Cooper Township officials and landowners on the other side of the bridge the commissioners decided to fix the bridge. The commissioners said recently that the Cooper Township Supervisors have offered in-kind services in the effort to repair the bridge.
The commissioners received a number of bids and ultimately awarded the project to low-bidder Grove Excavating of Falls Creek. Their bid came in at $14,150.
The first phase of work will include drainage, catch basins and riprap.
