Philipsburg Man Faces Assault Charges

DECATUR TOWNSHIP – A 19-year-old Philipsburg male will face assault charges after an incident Friday afternoon at an Old Route 322 residence in Decatur Township, the Clearfield-based State Police reported.

William John Lamb, Jr., 19 of Philipsburg, has been charged for terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment through Magisterial District Judge Michael Rudella’s office. Police said a warrant has been issued for the arrest of the accused.

According to the report, the male engaged in a verbal dispute with a 23-year-old Clearfield male. Police said the dispute escalated and became physical when the accused struck the victim several times in the head area with a closed fist.

Police said the accused also reportedly made statements toward the male and threatened his life. They said the victim was able to escape from the accused, flee the scene and contact police.  The victim suffered minor injuries as a result of the assault.
