DUBOIS – A successor has been named for outgoing City of DuBois Mayor John “Herm” Suplizio.
At Monday night’s DuBois City Council meeting council member Randy Schmidt made a motion to appoint council member Gary Gilbert as the mayor for the City of DuBois.
Gilbert will serve as the mayor for a two year term. He will officially be the mayor on Dec. 29 after current Mayor Suplizio takes the city manager position. Suplizio, who served for nearly 10 years as mayor, was praised by council members for his service in that position.
