DUBOIS – A local winery is supporting athletic programs at Penn State DuBois by donating a portion of its proceeds from the sale of a very unique wine called, Rejoice.
At the second annual Lion Wine and Cheese fundraiser in February, Brian and Mary Elias, of DuBois, entered the winning bid for the Wine Making Prize from Starr Hill Winery, of Curwensville, during the live auction. The couple got to create their own wine while working with wine makers at the vineyard. Once they developed their recipe, they chose the name of their creation and designed a label.
Rejoice is on shelves now at Starr Hill Winery Locations in Curwensville, Clearfield and St Marys.
“Everyone at Starr Hill was wonderful,” said Brian Elias. “We had such a wonderful and memorable time doing this.”
“This was a hands-on opportunity for the highest bidder and an extraordinary experience the bidders will always remember,” said Starr Hill owner, Kenny Starr. “We had a great time with the Elias team. They blended a fantastic new wine. We look forward to the next Penn State DuBois event and to presenting a check back to Penn State DuBois from the portion of the Rejoice sales,” he said.
