Clearfield Women’s Club Seeks Donations

CLEARFIELD – Members of the Clearfield Woman’s Club recently decorated three Christmas trees for the Shaw Library, including a “Charlie Brown” Christmas tree in the juvenile section. The club is accepting cleaning and laundry supplies and toiletries for the Soap Suds Closet and non-perishable food items for the community food bank.

According to club president Michele Fannin, “It is a long-standing tradition for the Clearfield Woman’s Club to support local charities at Christmas. Each year, the club selects a different group to receive the community’s largess.” Past recipients include the Food Pantry, Marian House, men’s shelter, overseas servicemen, the Salvation Army, and the Society for Prevention for Cruelty to Animals (SPCA).

Donations of liquid laundry soap, liquid dish detergent, deodorant for men and women, face and body soap, shampoo and toothpaste can be dropped off at the Shaw Library, 1 South Front Street, Clearfield, and left under the Charlie Brown tree.

For more information concerning donations or the library’s services, please call the Shaw Library, 765-3271. For more information about the Clearfield Woman’s Club, please call membership chairperson Sherry Wills, 765-2013. The next meeting will be held on Dec. 8, at 6:00 p.m. at Clearfield Colonial Courtyard, 1300 Leonard Street, Clearfield, and will feature entertainment by Brenda Weber at 7:00 p.m.
