Santa Claus, Others Take Part in Christmas Parade

CLEARFIELD – Santa Claus came to Clearfield on Saturday. The day began at 8:00 a.m. with breakfast at the Agriculture Building at the Clearfield Fairgrounds where children ate pancakes, sausage, and scrambled eggs, all made by the Clearfield Fire Department. After breakfast, children could have their picture taken with Santa.

The breakfast lasted until 11:00 a.m. but by 10:30, the fire department had served about 350 people and were running out of food. According to Lou Ann Heberling, “everything is going smooth, there are lots of kids, lots of people.” Heberling is on the fire department’s Breakfast with Santa committee.

The Christmas parade was staged at Agway where onlookers waited in the snowfall for Santa to arrive by train. Around noon, the train pulled up with the fair queen’s court at the front of the train and bring up the rear was the Grinch, Santa, and Mrs. Claus. Children were able to get pictures taken with the Grinch, Santa, and Mrs. Claus. Also making and appearance were two of his reindeer.
