DUBOIS – “I am happy to announce no tax increase for the City of DuBois for 2010,” were the words of City of DuBois Mayor John “Herm” Suplizio. The $4.1 budget announcement was made at Monday night’s city council meeting in DuBois.

The first reading of the 2010 budget was announced at the meeting by city solicitor Toni Cherry. A by-line breakdown of the budget was given to the press.

The budget for general government/administrative, tax collection, legal, personnel, and engineering is $646,136. The public safety budget, which includes the police and fire departments, code enforcement, planning and zoning, and emergency management, is $1,704,937.
