Man Faces Charges for Allegedly Stealing Car from PennDOT Parking Lot

CLEARFIELD – A preliminary hearing is set for a man who allegedly stole a car from the parking lot area of a PennDOT building along U.S. Route 322.

Wilbur Johnston III was been following an arrest for theft of a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and numerous traffic violations.

After reportedly stealing the car from the parking lot Johnston fled the state. He was later found in Gainesville, FL. Johnston was extradited back to Pennsylvania where he received a preliminary hearing date of Nov. 25 at 10 a.m. at the Clearfield County Jail.

The LTPD was assisted by the Gainesville Florida Police Department and the Clearfield County District Attorney’s office.
