BRISBIN – State police in Clearfield announced that a marijuana growing operation was found at the scene of a structure fire that occurred in late October.
According to the fire marshal’s report, the fire occurred on Princess Street in Brisbin. The Houtzdale Fire Department responded and upon entering the two-story residential building to extinguish the fire, they discovered a marijuana growing operation.
Cpl. Thomas Josephson investigated the fire and reported that the fire was discovered to have originated in the basement of the structure within the ceiling. The fire was classified as accidental in nature due to an electrical malfunction.
Sixty-two marijuana plants, varying in different stages of growth, numerous seedlings, drug manufacturing equipment and related items were seized by authorities.
Police stated that is unknown if the tenant owns the residence and it was reported to police that he is in California.
