Clearfield County Fair Contest Winners Advance to 2010 PA Farm Show Competition

CLEARFIELD – Winners of the 2009 Clearfield County Fair Hershey’s Cocoa Classic Chocolate Cake Baking Contest, Hershey’s Cocoa Classic Cookie, Brownie or Bar Baking Contest, PEQAP Angel Food Cake Contest and the Blue Ribbon Apple Pie Contest are eligible for competition at the 2010 PA Farm Show.

Winners advancing to the state competition are: Hershey’s Cocoa Cake – Virgina Yost of Houtzdale; Hershey’s Cocoa Cookie, Brownie or Bar – Kayla Brennan of DuBois; PEQAP Angel Food Cake – Amy Flangan of Clearfield; Blue Ribbon Apple Pie – Patricia Maines of Clearfield.

Contestants must adhere to contest rules as outlined in the Clearfield County Fair Premium Book. Contest rules can also be found on the Pennsylvania State Association of County Fairs website at www.pafairs.org/BakingContestsRules.asp. Winners from Pennsylvania Fairs hosting these contest will be competing at the 2010 PA Farm Show for not only a monetary prize, but also for the bragging rights of having the best in the state.

The 2010 PA Farm Show will be held January 9th through the 16th at the Farm Show Complex & Expo Center in Harrisburg, PA. Information on the PA Farm Show can be found at www.farmshow.pa.state.us. The Clearfield Fair & Park Board wishes our winners good luck and is very proud to have them represent Clearfield at the state level.
