Altoona Man Accused of Stealing Crossbow a No-Show for Court

CLEARFIELD – A hearing in absentia was held for an Altoona man accused of stealing a crossbow from a downtown Clearfield business.

Tobias Rhoades is charged with retail theft, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.

According to court records Rhoades reportedly entered Bob’s Army & Navy in Clearfield and removed a crossbow, scope and bolts. He left the store only to return. He then attempted to remove another crossbow was stopped by store personnel. He then fled the scene.

Rhoades failed to show for his case on Wednesday. A warrant is pending.
