Lewistown Panthers (2-2) at Clearfield Bisons (2-2)

After starting the season 0-2 the Lewistown Panthers are starting to pick up steam, and that may spell trouble for the Bisons after a self-destructive ending to last week\’s game at Tyrone. The Panthers have ripped off two straight victories over Philipsburg and Penns Valley to carry a record equal to Clearfield\’s at 2-2.

Lewistown was paced last week by halfback Kody Stein\’s 170 rushing yards. So far this season the Bisons have had trouble containing opposing offense\’s running games giving up many long touchdown runs. Lewistown has started to run the \”Wildcat\” offense made popular in college football over the past decade lining up the runningback up at quarterback and running numerous option and trap plays.

The Bisons found themselves facing many offensive struggles last week against the Golden Eagles as they committed numerous penalties and had many costly turnovers.

Sophomore quarterback Curtis Frye struggled against the two deep zone of Tyrone, a tactic Lewistown may look to use as well.  Senior wideout Trey Campman still put together a solid effort even though his streak of three consecutive 100 yard games ended; though he was able to total over 130 yards total offense.

Kickoff is set for 7 PM at the Clearfield Bisons Sports Complex
