Philipsburg Man Jailed for Attempted Burglary

PHILIPSBURG – A Philipsburg man was arrested for attempted burglary and other charges.

According to police on Sept. 11 around 11 p.m. someone attempted to gain entry into a Hillcrest Street residence by smashing out a bathroom window using their arm.

Police said that on Sept. 12 Jospeph Komisar was located and was found to have injuries consistent with the crime. He reluctantly confessed and was taken into custody. Komisar was arraigned by video by Magisterial District Judge David Grine. Bail was set at $15,000.

Komisar was placed in Centre County Jail. Police also learned that he was on state parole and a detainer was placed on him.
