COALPORT – Sandy Fink-Barrett, director of the Clearfield County Recreation and Tourism Authority, warned board members about an upcoming “mass layoff” this fall due to the state budget impasse and the Moshannon State Forest.
Barrett said the region is an important tourism attraction during the fall season. She said that many visitors enjoy the forest’s elk viewing opportunities.
The Moshannon State Forest is located on 3372 State Park Road, Penfield and has three state parks within the same. Two of the three are, however, administered from the same park office. The three are: Parker Dam State Park, S.B. Elliott State Park and Black Moshannon State Park.
