GRAMPIAN – A state police fire marshal, accelerant detection K-9 and the Grampian Volunteer Fire Department investigated a fire that destroyed a Grampian man’s home.
According to police the fire occurred Wednesday night at around 8:35 p.m. on JOC Lane. The fire destroyed the two-story, wood-framed residence with attached garage. The total amount of damage is estimated at $450,000. The fire is classified as undetermined in origin.
A firefighter was treated at the scene for minor injuries due to debris in the eyes. The firefighter resumed duty once treated.
According to police foul play is not suspected in the fire.
Police were assisted at the scene by members of the Grampian VFD. The Clearfield-Jefferson Chapter of the American Red Cross will be assisting the family and provided a canteen for the firemen.
