Philipsburg Man Faces Sexual Assault Charges

PHILILPSBURG – State police in Philipsburg have announced that charges are being filed against a Philipsburg man for an alleged sexual assault.

Police said that the incident occurred in a wooded area off of Walnut Street, between C and D Streets in the South Philipsburg area on July 23 at around 11:30 p.m.

Police reported that the suspect, James B. Lowe, 31 of Philipsburg, is a Megan’s Law offender and is currently incarcerated in Centre County Jail on an unrelated charged. According to police Lowe confessed to the incident when he was interviewed in jail.

He will be arraigned on those charges later Tuesday via video conferencing at the jail.
