JULIAN – A 21-year-old Bellefonte man was accidentally shot while he was target shooting with three others Saturday evening at the end of Bennett Road in Julian, the Philipsburg State Police reported.
According to the police report, Travis Lee Stem, 21 of Bellefonte, was treated and released from the Mount Nittany Medical Center for a gun shot wound that he had sustained to his right shoulder. Police said that they preliminarily believe he received the wound from a 22 pistol that was fired in a close proximity to him.
Police indicated that the shooters were not positioned in a safe arrangement. They said that wound was caused by poor judgment by both parties.
Police said that the investigation is ongoing at this time.
