Commissioners Approve Environmental Study of Gray Battery Building

CLEARFIELD – On Tuesday the Clearfield County Commissioners took another step toward the purchase of the Gray Battery building.

The commissioners approved a Phase I environmental study by Geotech Engineering on the building.

The commissioners have been looking at purchasing the building and relocating some of the county offices, including Children, Youth and Family Services, Veteran’s Affairs, County Planning and the Conservation District, at the county’s Multi Service Center there. On July 14 the commissioners approved a purchase agreement for the Gray Building $183,000.

The commissioners also approved giving Commissioner Chair Joan Robinson-McMillen the ability to sign off on items that might come up to help speed the closing process along. McMillen said the public would be kept apprised of action taken that way.
