Annville Man Seriously Injured in I-80 Accident

BRADFORD TOWNSHIP – An Annville man was seriously injured during a traffic accident on Interstate 80 early Tuesday morning.

According to state police in Clearfield, 69-year-old William Prescott was traveling west on I-80 when for unknown reasons he traveled onto the north side of the road. He went about 1,500 feet before striking a tree. After impact Prescott’s vehicle caught fire and was a complete loss.

Prescott was flown to Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment of severe injuries. It is unknown if he was wearing his seat belt.

Police were assisted by BJW, Clearfield, Hyde, Lawrence Township, Curwensville, Goshen Township, Morris Township, Winburne and Glen Richey Volunteer Fire Departments, Clearfield County Emergency Management Agency and PennDOT.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
