Clearfield Aquatic Club and Clearfield Community Pool Board of Directors Plan Splash for Cash

Clearfield– The Clearfield Community Pool Board of Directors and the Clearfield Aquatic Club will hold the second annual  Splash for Cash at the Clearfield Community pool on Tuesday.

Swimmers of all ages and non-swimmer puddle-jumpers have a half hour to complete as many laps as they can.  While puddle jumpers are permitted to walk, jump, float or use beginner stroke-swimming to get themselves safely across the two foot deep section of the pool for fifteen minutes, the more advanced lap swimmers must be able to complete at least one, twenty-five yard lap in the deep end.

Splash for Cash is open to the public.  A minimum five dollar donation is required.  All donations are due the day of the event.  Prizes will be awarded for the most money raised, most laps in each division, youngest swimmer, oldest swimmer and most spirited swimmer.

Organizers of the event encourage pool members as well as other swimmers in the community to get involved. \”We had a great turn out last summer at the first Splash for Cash,\” said AJ Flanagan, event chairperson.  \”Clearfield\’s swimming family is wonderful and it really shows in an event like this where parents, alumni and fans join the swim team members in the pool.  Our goal this year is to see more non-swim team members participate.\”

Proceeds from the event will benefit both the Clearfield Aquatic Club and the Community Pool Association.  For more information email clearfieldaquaticclub@yahoo.com.
