P-O Tops West Branch in Inaugural ‘Rivals’ Watermelon Eating Contest

PHILIPSBURG – It was a battle for bragging rights at Wednesday’s Watermelon Eating Contest between members of the Philipsburg-Osceola High School football team and the West Branch High School football team.
 
Both sides had a cheering section and did their best not to let their supporters down.

In the inaugural WB v. PO football rivalry chopdown, WB took the top individual honor (James McGowen – first overall), but PO took the team title with Ryan Soltis (third overall) and Aaron McKnight (second overall) leading the way. Other players for the Warriors participating included Chris Beveridge and Garrett Streightiff and for the Mounties, Chris Rocco.
