AUSTIN – Have you ever watched as a fly-fisherman executed graceful casts across a tumbling stream? Or marveled at a display of tiny, intricate dry flies in an outdoor shop? Here’s your chance to learn more about this fun activity! Bring the whole family and join PA Fish and Boat Commission personnel and the Sinnemahoning State Park naturalists for a lesson in the sport and art of fly-fishing. You’ll receive information on rods and reels, line, fly types, and much, much more. You’ll end the program with a chance to practice your new-found skills on the waters of the First Fork.
The event is scheduled for July 18, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Pre-registration by July 15th is required. Meet at 40 Maples Day-Use Area. Waders, water shoes or old sneakers, insect repellent, and sunscreen are recommended. For questions or additional information, contact the park office at 814-647-8401.
