CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Little League 9-10 All-Stars scored in all five innings to beat Curwensville 13-3 at Kurtz Field Monday evening to advance to the District 5 Northern Tier elimination bracket semifinal.
The hosts used a 15-hit attack to log their second win in three outings.
Mike Ternoway paced Clearfield with two doubles and a single.
Christian Leigey-Lopez also had three hits, while Brock Bowman doubled and tripled, Matt Collins doubled twice and Matt Jones singled two times.
Max Lohman was the winning hurler, going the distance and striking out seven.
Curwensville got to him for nine hits, two each by Zach McClure, Nick Stewart and Alex Opaliski. One of McClure\’s was a two-bagger.
Clearfield will return to Kurtz Field Wednesday for a rematch with Four-Leaf Clover, which ousted Milesburg 9-5 in the other elimination bracket quarterfinal.
Clearfield topped Four-Leaf 14-4 in five innings in the first round of the tourney.
