Chiefs Rained Out of Wood Bat Tourney Games, JCL Make -up Games Booked

CLEARFIELD – Because of the heavy rains that pelted the area Saturday morning, all four Bellefonte Bandits Showdown games, including two for the Clearfield American Legion Post 6 baseball team, booked for the Lawrence Township Recreation Park Field were cancelled, according to Chiefs manager Sid Lansberry.

Whether the Chiefs will play the Tyrone Legion and/or the Kiski Baseball Club Sunday, pending field conditions, will be determined by the wood bat tournament officials later Saturday.

Lansberry noted Clearfield (5-8) will travel to DuBois Sunday for a 5 p.m. Jefferson County Legion League make-up game instead of a 1 p.m. double-header as previously announced.

The Chiefs, 4-2 in the JCL, will go to Reynoldsville Monday and welcome DuBois Tuesday in league action, the latter a make-up of Thursday\’s rainout.

Lansberry also announced new dates for two other postponements, June 29 at home against Reynoldsville and July 3 at DuBois.
