Chiefs Rained Out, Eye Wood Bat Tourney This Weekend

HYDE – Overnight and morning rains forced the postponement of Thursday\’s Jefferson County Legion Baseball League game between Clearfield and DuBois.
 
No makeup date was announced, but the two teams already are scheduled to make up an earlier postponement in a 5 p.m. game at DuBois on Sunday.
 
Manager Sid Lansberry\’s Chiefs (5-6) are booked for four games Friday and Saturday as one of the host teams for the Bellefonte Bandits Showdown, a wood bat tourney.
 
Weather permitting, Clearfield will meet the Toronto, Canada, Cardinals at 1 p.m. and the Ohio BB Rooners at 6 o\’clock on Friday and the Tyrone Legion at 10 a.m. and Kiski at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
 
All games will be played at the Lawrence Township Recreational Park Field.
 
Friday\’s other game will pit the Toronto Cardinals against the BB Rooners at 3:30.
 
On Saturday, the Nor-Gwyn Hawks will play Tyrone at 12:30 and Kiski at 3.
