Karthaus Bridge Job Starts Later this Month

Drivers will encounter temporary signals, alternating traffic on Route 879

CLEARFIELD – Bridge preservation work will begin later this month on the Karthaus Truss Bridge on Route 879 in the village of Karthaus, on the Clearfield and Centre counties line. Motorists can expect slight delays, temporary signals and an alternating traffic pattern as the project begins in mid to late June. PennDOT will issue updated advisories as work progresses.

Work on the Karthaus truss includes painting, deck and structure repairs and miscellaneous items. All work is weather dependent. Francis J. Palo, Inc. of Clarion is the contractor on the $1.2 million project. Work is scheduled to be complete by mid-October.

PennDOT reminds motorists to move through construction zones with caution, obey posted speed limits and always buckle up. For more information on roadway construction, visit PennDOT website at www.dot.state.pa.us
