CNB Bank Plans Community Scavenger Hunt

CLEARFIELD – In conjunction with the Clearfield Area High School Art Department and local businesses, CNB Bank will launch a “Stools from Schools” Scavenger Hunt on June 27. CNB would like to invite the public to participate. Registration for the event will take place from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the CNB office located at 101 Industrial Park Road. The Scavenger Hunt will end Aug. 29. Participants must be 18 or older and will be asked to sign a release at registration.

CNB initiated this project in an effort to bring together the school, local businesses and the community. Wooden step stools have been designed and painted with a community-related theme by Clearfield Area High School students in Leann Schaeffer’s art class. The students rose to the challenge and the colorful stools feature everything from fishing themes to Clearfield County Fair themes. The students then titled their artwork and a metal plate was applied to the stool with the title and artist name(s).

Beginning June 27, 24 area businesses will each display one of these stools. Clues will be given to the Scavenger Hunt participants, leading them to the businesses to find the stools. Once located, the title from the metal plate affixed to the stool is to be recorded on the Scavenger Hunt worksheet. The person or team who finds and identifies all twenty-four stools will bring their completed form to CNB to be included in a drawing at the end of the event on Aug. 29. The winner will receive a $1,000 Series EE savings bond.

The event will kick off with a promotion and registration broadcast live on Q-102 from the CNB office located on Industrial Park Road from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on June 27.

The stools will be on display and more information on the Scavenger Hunt can be obtained at the CNB Bank booth at the Clearfield Riverfront Festival June 11 – 13. Until the festival, they are on display at CNB Bank offices located at 101 Industrial Park Road, 1 South Second Street and 1231 South Second Street. Area residents are encouraged to save the kick-off date of registration and participate in this fun community event.
