PennDOT Update on State Route 879/Lick Run Project

CLEARFIELD – Work on PennDOT’s state Route 879/Lick Run bridge project in Lawrence Township is continuing. As work to change the alignment of the Stiner Road and SR 879 intersection is completed, the local Stiner Road detour will be lifted. PennDOT expects to lift this local detour by 5 p.m. on May 22. All work is weather dependent.

The detour around the main project work on SR 879 remains in place. That detour began on April 6 and is expected to be in place through July. The detour directs southbound and westbound motorists to use SR 970 south to Interstate 80 west and back to SR 879. Eastbound and northbound motorists follow I-80 east to SR 970 north and back to SR 879. SR 879 remains open westbound to Stiner Road and eastbound to the Sapp Brothers Truck Stop. Only local traffic is allowed through the SR 879 closure. “Local traffic” is limited to residents living within the project limits.

PennDOT reminds motorists to obey detour directions, move through all work zones with caution, obey posted speed limit signs and always buckle up.
