Virginia Man Arrested for Allegedly Burglarizing Construction Site

CLEARFIELD – A Virginia man was arrested for allegedly trying to steal over $8,000 worth of property.

According to the police department, James A. Ashby was in town working at the Bionol Clearfield ethanol site. Police said he was caught in the act of allegedly stealing over $8,000 worth of property at a construction site along US Route 322 near Goldenrod.

He was charged with burglary, criminal trespass, theft, receiving stolen property and public drunkenness. 

Ashby was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Pat Ford and placed in Clearfield County Jail in lieu of $100,000.
