DuBois ARC to Hold Bash of Summer Carnival

DUBOIS – The DuBois Chapter of the American Red Cross is pleased to present the 4th Annual 1st Bash of Summer Carnival to be held May 20 through May 23 at the DuBois City Memorial Park from 6 – 10 p.m. each night. The event will feature: fun, entertainment, bands (Polka, Country, Barber Shop Chorus, Acoustic Guitar & others), a Karaoke Contest, prizes, raffle drawings, bake sale and flea market. The event also features food booths from a variety of vendors and tents that highlight area businesses that support the Red Cross.

The crowd pleasing “Pie in the Eye” contest allows attendees to throw a cream pie in the face of local celebrities for a small donation. We will have different area personalities for you to take aim at each night. This year we have a special guest star on Saturday night, Pennsylvania State Representative, Matt Gabler, of the 75th Legislative District who will be the target of two “successful bidders” to throw a pie in his eye. Gabler will speak on behalf of the Red Cross and personally auction off the two chances to “cream him” in the face.

Your support of the DuBois Chapter of the American Red Cross helps us carry out our mission to be there for you when you need it most. The DuBois Chapter provides: CPR/First Aid training, life guard training, local disaster response, support to our military troops & their families, community education, support for local blood drives, and opportunities for volunteers to get involved. Money raised at this event will stay in this area. From every dollar raised, $.92 goes to fund our local services and programs.

If you would like to volunteer or additional information, please call Patty Donahue, chairperson, at 814-375-1109 or the DuBois Chapter Office at 814-371-2750.
