Clearfield Borough Police Chief Looks at Alternate Way to Make People Aware of Active Warrants

CLEARFIELD – Clearfield Borough Police Chief Jeff Rhone is looking at a different way to let people know they have active warrants.

On Thursday Rhone asked Clearfield Borough Council’s permission to put the list of nearly 400 people together and distribute them to media outlets for publication. Rhone said the information would include the person’s name, what the warrant was for and the town in which the person lives.

Rhone indicated that most people with active warrants in the borough are out-of-towners.

Council member Fred Wisor asked about the possibility of using constables to deliver the warrants. Rhone stated that constables are currently being used as much as possible.

“We have to curb this,” Rhone said of the growing number of warrants.

Council did not object to Rhone’s request and the chief will begin compiling the warrant list.
