Cooper Township Fire Ruled Accidental

COOPER TOWNSHIP – A fire that occurred on 5871 Kylertown/Drifting Highway has been ruled accidental by a state police fire marshal and the chiefs from the Grassflat Fire Company.

According to the state police, a fire marshal assisted the Grassflat Fire Company with the investigation of the April 1 fire. The fire originated within the passenger side engine compartment of a 1997 Volvo log truck that was parked in the garage. An engine block heater was plugged into that side of the engine at the time of the fire.

The garage, log truck and all contents were a complete loss. Damage is estimated at around $175,000.
