DUBOIS – After a late addition to the agenda, J. Mark Heckman of Brookvile was voted unanimously to fill DuBois Area School District’s new assistant superintendent position. Heckman will begin his five year term this July, pending accreditation.
Heckman has experience as both teacher and principal. He received his master of education in educational administration from the California University of Pennsylvania in 2004 and his bachelor of science in music education from Indiana University, Pa in 1991.
Heckman spent most of his education career in the Brookeville Area School District. He has been a music teacher, elementary teacher. He was an assistant secondary principal in the Brookville Area School District and Elementary Principal for Northside and Pinecreek Elementary Schools.
