PennDOT Changes Weight on Bridge Near Hyde

CLEARFIELD – PennDOT changed weight limit restrictions today on another bridge in Clearfield County. PennDOT has now posted the state Route 2041/Bailey’s Run Bridge, southwest of the village of Hyde, for a weight limit of 5 tons for single vehicles and 10 tons for combination vehicles. The previous posting was 14 tons and 25 ton combinations. The bridge is also posted for “one truck at a time”. Vehicles exceeding the new posting limits will need to use an alternate route.

The decision to lower the weight limits of the bridge was the result of a recent inspection. The SR 2041 bridge was built in 1937 is 13 feet long and carries an average of 588 vehicles per day.

The postings will remain in place until repairs can be made to the bridge. For more information on roadway construction and maintenance operations, visit the PennDOT Web site.
