Farm Bureau Members to Meet with Legislators

CLEARFIELD – Area farmers will be among the several hundred Farm Bureau members from across Pennsylvania who will meet with their state lawmakers in Harrisburg on March 31st. Many issues will be discussed, some of which include state budget funding for agriculture, issues related to land enrolled in programs where property tax values are based on agricultural use, agricultural land development issues, protections against trespass on farms due to food safety concerns, and revisions in vehicle code regulations to enable safe movement of farm vehicles.

“Our state legislators in the General Assembly always welcome the chance to hear directly from farmers about issues that affect Pennsylvania’s leading industry,” according to Ralph McClarren, West Decatur, president of the Clearfield County Farm Bureau.

The Clearfield County Farm Bureau members who will be attending are:
Jeanne Hayes, Russ and Nancy Orner, Russell and Marie Dickey, Ralph and Donna McClarren and Richard Hansel.

The Clearfield County Farm Bureau is a voluntary organization that works to advance the interests of agriculture and rural communities. It offers numerous benefits and services to its 177 members, and is affiliated with the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau and the American Farm Bureau Federation.
