Wade Cowder Appointed Fourth Ward Rep.

CLEARFIELD – Wade Cowder was appointed as the new representative for Fourth Ward on Thursday night.

The seat became vacant when former Fourth Ward representative Larry Mack applied for and was hired by the borough to take over as its code enforcement officer.

Fred Wisor, head of the borough’s personnel committee, said they met with two qualified candidates to discuss the vacant seat.

“Both candidates were very well qualified,” said Wisor. “We discussed it at length. I felt he (Cowder) was familiar with borough procedures.”

Wisor said it was he and the personnel committee’s that Cowder be appointed to council.

Cowder was appointed on a unanimous vote.
