Commissioners Take Action to Help Municipalities with Water, Sewer

CLEARFIELD – On Tuesday the Clearfield County Commissioners took action to help a number of municipalities engaged in water and sewer projects.

The commissioners approved moving Community Development Block Grant funds from prior projects that were either completed without the funds or the designated funding was never used.

The commissioners moved $68,000 from the ORD Sewage Authority activity fund for lateral assistance, $66,904.76 from the Muddy Run Regional Authority activity fund for lateral assistance, and reduced the lateral assistance for Burnside Township from $100,000 to $10,187.04.

That money will now be used to the 2007 fiscal year entitlement application for administrative fees in the amount of $8,246.06; BCI Municipal Authority will receive $26,079.16 for water line extension/interconnection with Glen Hope Municipal Authority; Bradford Township will receive $90,392.50 for a waterline extension along Houser and Shiloh Roads; and Karthaus-Burnside Joint Sewer Authority will receive $100,000 for the construction of a sewage treatment facility.
